June 4th Belmore wins 9-6 june 11 Chepstow wins 12 - 0 over Saugeen Shores June 13 Chepstow wins over Belmore 11-10 Got a Great group of Girls this year. Should be a fun season. Thanks to all the girls who are stepping up and playing positions outside their confort zone. Shirley

Chepstow Rookie Dynamite Ball Club Rocks! The Rookies had their first game against Teeswater on Monday, May 28th. All players were in attendance and all played amazing. The final score after two exciting innings was 13 - 13. The Red and White will be on the field Monday, June 4th to face Cargill. See you there!

Lang Farm Diamonds Capture League Championship

On August 31, the Chepstow Lang Farm Diamonds defeated the Belmore Stars to win the Grey Bruce Ladies Fastball League championship. The Diamonds won the best of three, 2 games to 1.
In game 1, Chepstow took a 2 -0 lead. Belmore replied to tie the game and a home run with 2 runners on in the fifth inning, added to the total for 6-2 lead. Chepstow replied with 2 runs, but could not overtake the Stars. Final score was 6-4 for Belmore. Pitching duties were shared by Julia Millar, Katherine Mullin and Suzanne Reinhart. Catching for the Diamonds were Alison Maas and Melanie Harris. Julia Millar had 2 hits for the Diamonds.
Facing elimination on August 29, the Lang Farm girls traveled to Mildmay for game 2. Chepstow took an early lead scoring 4 runs in the first inning. They added 2 more in the second inning and 2 more in the fifth. Belmore replied with 3 runs during the game, and the Diamonds won by a 8-3 score. Julia Millar continued her hot batting with 3 singles. Katherine Mullin hit 2 triples and Allison Maas also had 2 hits for Chepstow. Suzanne Reinhart pitched the win and Maas caught.
With Belmore and Chepstow tied at a game apiece, the stage was set for game 3 and the championship on August 31 in Mildmay. The game was played before a great crowd, and both teams were looking forward to the game. The first inning was 3 up, 3 down for both teams. In the top of the second inning, Laura Kranenburg doubled. Tracey Hatt crushed a pitch for an inside the park home run to make the score 2-0. Combined with good defence, the Diamonds added steadily to the total throughout the game to push 10 runs across the plate. Final score was 10-0 for Chepstow. Kranenburg had 4 hits for Chepstow. Courtney Wilhelm had 3 hits and Katherine Mullin had 2. Suzanne Reinhart pitched, allowing 3 hits, and recorded 5 strikeouts. Alison Maas caught.
League commissioner, Gord Lamont presented the trophy to the Lang Farm girls, and congratulated both teams on their years. The Diamonds would like to congratulate Belmore’s Jill Kuntz on being selected to play for the Hamilton Pontiacs in the Eastern Canadian Championships in August. Jill was an integral part of the team and led the Pontiacs to the Eastern Canadian Championship.
The Diamonds would like to thank their sponsor, Tony and Elaine Lang for their support throughout the year. They would like to thank all who supported them at the park and look forward to seeing everyone again next spring.
